In the first reading Peter said under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit: The passage of scripture had to be fulfilled in which the Holy Spirit, speaking through David, foretells the fate of Judas, who acted as guide to the men who arrested Jesus-after being one of our number and sharing our ministry. (Acts 1:16-17) I believe Peter here is referring to Psalm 41:9.
The entire Bible is full of prophesies and shadows about our Lord Jesus Christ, His Death, His Kingdom and His Royal Family. A Christian once said to me: You know brother, I only read the New Testament. I do not think we need to read the Old Testament now that Jesus has come.
But Jesus said to the Jews: You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. (John 5:39) In this verse Jesus is referring to the Old Testament. Truly, the entire Bible from start to end speaks about Jesus. The Revelation of a person of all that Jesus Christ accomplished on the Cross can be limited if he does not study the entire Bible from start to end. You will find Jesus in every Book of the Bible if you will let the Holy Spirit to teach you.
To give you an example of the specific nature of Biblical prophecies, consider the following examples of prophecies concerning Jesus Christ. (Taken from EscapetoReality)
