Jesus said: “The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it. (Luke 16:16) I believe one of the reasons we do not see everyone pressing into the Church is because we are no longer preaching the message of the Kingdom of God. Wherever Jesus went He preached the message of the Kingdom of God. Most of His parables were about His Kingdom. John the Baptist proclaimed in the wilderness: Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight." (Matthew 3:1-3)
In the first reading, we read about how Paul preached about the Kingdom of God in Corinth for 3 months. (Acts 19:8) Paul saw tremendous success in his ministry because all his messages were focused on the Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ. (Acts 28:31)
So what is the message of the Kingdom?
I believe that the Bible is not a Religious Book. The Bible is a book about the Kingdom of God. In simple words the Bible is about the King, His Kingdom and His Royal Family. Jesus Christ did not come to give us another Religion. He came to give us the Kingdom. (Luke 12:32) As a Church we are not to preach another Religion to the people. People already have so many Religions to choose from. What makes the Gospel unique is that it teaches people about the Kingdom of God and gives people the opportunity to enter in. Jesus said: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33) The word 'seek' in this verse means to study, to understand and to apply.
It is when we study and understand the Kingdom of God that all things pertaining to life and godliness (like healing, health, prosperity, peace, joy, dominion etc.) will come upon us and overtake us.
Jesus Christ taught about the attractiveness of the Kingdom and said that when you find it you would be ready to give up anything for it. (Matthew 13:44-46)
The Kingdom of God is really an amazing place to be in. As a child of the Kingdom, I testify that it is a Kingdom that takes care of you, protects you, honors you and does much much more than my words can express in one sentence. No earthly Kingdom can be compared to the uniqueness of the Kingdom of God.
Let me give you a sneak peek into this marvelous Kingdom. In the Kingdom of God, the King who rules and reigns is God. He is also our Father. Unlike an earthy Kingdom where there is one King and many subjects, in the Kingdom of God, God has made everybody a King and Priest. In Kingdom of God, God is interested in the financial prosperity of all His people. He makes sure that all the needs of His people are met on a daily basis. In the Kingdom of God, the sons and daughters of God are united with God in Spirit and have authority over all evil spirits, satan, sickness and every evil power under the sun.
It is important you realize that what I am writing here is not theory. It is practical and can really be lived out on a daily basis when you understand it by the power of the Holy Spirit.
