This Sunday, I would like for us to mediate on the second reading. Paul said: But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ. For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it. And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days. But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother. (Galatians 1:13-17)
When Paul was Jerusalem, he met no one but the Lord's brother. Selah. This teaches us that Jesus Christ had siblings. The Bible says: Joseph did not know Mary till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. (Matthew 1:25) After Jesus was born Joseph and Mary consummated their marriage and had many more sons and daughters. The Bible says: Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us?(Matthew 13:55-56)
A teaching about Mary would really not be necessary if the Papacy just preached the Truth.
Like Plato's allegory of the Cave we have been chained from birth and forced to spend our entire life believing the shadow. It is only the Truth that can set us free from the Cave. When we know the truth, we perceive the world around us differently. (Allegory of the Cave)
Although the Papacy teaches that Mary is a Virgin in Heaven, the truth is that Mary was a Virgin when Jesus was born but obviously lost her virginity when she and Joseph had sons and daughters. The time has come beloved brothers and sisters to arise to a new reality.
You are wrong when you say that Mary lost her virginity when "she and Joseph had (son(s)) and *(daughters). First, Mary never lost her virginity when she gave birth to Christ. This is the teaching of the Catholic Church. Second, she never had any other sons and daughters with Joseph. She was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and gave birth to Jesus without Joseph.
ReplyDeleteI say your are absolutely wrong,
Deletekrish is very much right, as the bible says everywhere
"and Adam knew his wife and gave birth to-"(Genesis 4:1)
and other places in the bible too proves the same
so Mathew 1:25 actually Josef knew his wife meaning - they had children's
Michael, I know what you mean but wanted to clarify your last sentence because someone could misunderstand it. It reads as if Mary was the one conceived by the Holy Spirit instead of Jesus.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Krish is incorrect that the word 'until' appearing in Matthew 1:25 necessitates consummation of the marriage after Jesus was born. We see the word 'until' not indicating a changed state in verses such as 2 Sam 6:23: "Michal the daughter of Saul had no children till the day of her death." Are we to assume she had children after her death? There is also the burial of Moses. The book of Deuteronomy says that no one knew the location of his grave "until this present day" (Deut. 34:6, Knox). But we know that no one has known since that day either. There are other verses where this is the case.
Anybody reading can go to catholic.com and enter brothers to see how Krish's other arguments also fall short. God bless!
Krish isnt saying anything new. he is just repeating the much repeated statements of others who have gone before him... Where does the bible say that joseph and mary had children of their own.. it just mentions the brothers and sisters of Jesus.. Unfortunately young mr. krish reads an English bible without understanding that it is a translation from the original greek and subsequent latin texts.. The term used in the gospels is "adelphos " and it can denote everything from siblings to relatives.. Being an Asian just like Jesus and his relatives, mr. krish should realize that even in india..we refer to our cousins as brothers and sisters.. There are many instances of similar usage in the bible. By using the derogatory term Papacy instead of the church, he exposes his malafide intentions.. Not just the papacy (catholic church) but also the orthodox churches, the Anglican and Lutheran churches of the reformation all profess and accept the perpetual virginity of mary.
ReplyDeleteWe so easily accept that Jesus entered the Upper room miraculously when the apostles were hiding behind closed doors.. yet we refuse to believe that Jesus entered this world while retaining the virginity of mary.. Mary was a virgin before, during and after the birth of Christ.
